    About the Training Center:

    NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur is a globally renowned institute for neurosurgery, with a strong track record of conducting numerous large-scale clinical studies in the field of neuroendoscopy. These studies have focused on a range of areas, including the endoscopic management of hydrocephalus, skull base, and spine-related conditions. The department has also been instrumental in introducing several groundbreaking innovations, such as the endoscopic transcervical AAD technique, endoscopic cervical disc-preserving surgery, and tubular retractors for deep-seated hematoma and tumors, among others.

    To further support learning and research in this area, the department has conducted 23 neuroendoscopy operative and cadaver programs so far. Additionally, it offers the only university-recognized 11-month fellowship program in India. The department is actively engaged in both clinical and research activities, and currently boasts one of the largest neuroendoscopic studies and surgeries in the world.

    To facilitate teaching and learning, the department has four operations theaters, neuronavigation, all types of endoscopes, exoscope, microscope, stereotactic frame, CUSA, Intraoperative neuromonitoring, and DSA machine, all of which speak to the state-of-the-art arrangement available here. Beyond neuroendoscopy, all sub-specialties, includign skull base surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, neuro-oncology, minimally invasive neurosurgery, movement disorders, and epilepsy, are also well-established within the department.

     

    Program Details:

    The department of Neurosurgery, NSCB Medical College announces 2 international fellowships for a period of 3 months duration each for young neurosurgeons. 

    During their fellowhsip, the fellows will mainly act as observers. However, if they get a temporary registration from Indian Medical Council, they will be allowed to assist in neurosurgical procedures.

    Fellows will be paid a stipend of Rs. 50,000/- per month which includes accommodation.

    • Fellows can choose to observe any neurosurgical subspecialty (as mentioned above) they are interested in, including emergency surgeries.
    • Fellows will also attend regular rounds in wards, Neuro intenstive care unit. They can actively participate in educational discussions, such as journal club or topic review.
    • Fellows will be allowed to write articles and publish their work during the fellowship program.

    2. A copy of MCh/DNB/diploma in Medicine or a certificate issued by the Faculty of Medicine

    3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    4. The letter(s) of recommendation

    5. A motivation letter
