About the Training Center:

The Department of Neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is a newly established quaternary institution which runs an increasing busy service including subspecialties such as a strong Neuro-Interventional Program embedded into a comprehensive interdisciplinary stroke center, an interdisciplinary skullbase program, peripheral nerve and a complex spine center. There is a dedicated Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit with 24 beds, as well as close cooperation’s with the Departments of Neuroradiology and Neurology.

The fellowship consists of an extensive exposure to the mentioned spectrum of neurosurgical techniques including complex spine, epilepsy surgery, neuro-oncology, neuro-vascular center, interdisciplinary skull base surgery, as well as the numerous educational and research activities within the Neuroscience program of the Department of Neurosurgery in collaborations with the Neuroscience Institute.

Program Details:

• Duration of fellowship will be 2 months.
• Fellows will be provided with furnished accommodation.
• Fellows will be paid expenses for food.
• The Fellowship does not provide travel expenses.
• Candidates will be allowed to attend surgeries, daily conferences & rounds, workshops and other educational activities during the fellowship period.
• Candidates have the chance for clinical research and publications
• The academic office will support the candidate with the appropriate documents for onboarding.

Requirements: 

The ideal candidate is a young neurosurgeon from a residency training program or an equivalent program from developing countries who during her or his residency demonstrated good skills in microsurgery. Furthermore, the fellows should have work experience of no longer than three (3) years after concluding the residency training.

• A copy of the passport or the ID card
• A copy of the diploma in Medicine or a certificate issued by the Faculty of Medicine.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Two letter(s) of recommendation.
• A motivation letter
• The fellowship application bearing the date of beginning
• A Valid Entry VISA to the UAE (with the support of the academic office)

How to Apply:

The applicants fill out the Online Application Form. Only the online application will be accepted. CCAD reserves the right to choose candidates following the WFNS screening upon eligibility to enter the UAE. At the end of satisfactorily completing the rotation, Certificates are issued by CCAD training center and the WFNS.
