About the Training Center:

Huashan Hospital has a history of 110 years where located in the downtown of Shanghai, China. It is also a teaching hospital affiliated to Fudan University and the hospital of Red Cross Society. Neurosurgical department is one of the largest units in hospital with 680 beds and 100 neurosurgeons. Department of Neurosurgery has fully set-up subspecialties serving 75000 outpatients per year with more than 14000 operations. It is also granted as Shanghai Medical Center of Neurosurgery and National Institution and Medical Center on Aging. Department chief is Professor Liangfu Zhou who is awarded 2015 WFNS MEDAL OF HONOR AWARD and Neurosurgeon of The Year by <World Neurosurgery> in 2012. Professor Ying Mao, deputy chairman of Neurosurgery Commission, Chinese Medical Association is the director of this training center.

Program Details:

• Department of Neurosurgery, Huashan Hospital will enlist 2 postgraduate young neurosurgeons for a 3-month period fellowship per annum. All the fellows will be provided with free accommodation and lunch. Additional 1000 US dollars per month will be offered for living expense in Shanghai.
• Fellows can choose any neurosurgical subspecialties that he is interested in including cerebral vascular surgery, skull base surgery, endoscopic surgery, brain tumor(glioma), pediatric neurosurgery, functional neurosurgery, radiosurgery, interventional neuroradiology, spinal surgery etc. Trauma Center is also welcome to all fellows who wants to attend for emergency surgery.
• Fellows will attend morning conference and round ward in the medical group belongs to the subspecialty he chooses. Surgeries are not allowed to perform by fellows but they can attend for assistance.
• Fellows are highly encouraged to participate in our Journal Club and Case Discussion every 2 weeks. Besides that, all the neurosurgical conferences hold by our department well be free to access.
• During the fellowship period, we will organize a workshop for all fellows. The content is microsurgical technique training for vessel suture on animal model.
• Fellows are encouraged to carry out a research project during the fellowship with his own research interests. They can write the article and publish their work.

• A copy of diploma in Medicine issued by Faculty of Medicine.
• A copy of Medical License issued by local authority.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) with personal photo.
• Letter(s) of recommendation.
• A motivation letter.
