125th Anniversary of the Odesa National Medical Univesity

This year Odesa National Medical University, formerly the Faculty of Medicine of Novo- russian University established in 1900, will celebrate its 125th anniversary. The Department for the Systematic and Clinical Study of Nervous and Mental Diseases was established in 1903 at the Faculty of Medicine, Novorussian University in Odesa. On October 11 1905, the Neurologi- cal Clinic commenced its activities.

Indonesian Stroke Care Transformation Initiatives

Stroke is the leading cause of death in Indonesia, surpassing other major diseases in both mortality and disability. The Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 and the National Healthcare Basic Research 2018 estimate that 2.5 out of every 1,000 Indonesians suffer a stroke annually, with 15% at risk of death and over 60% at risk of permanent disability.

Essential TBI Care Survey

In the management of neurotrauma, evidence for the management of patients is largely derived from data acquired in well-resourced health systems in high-income countries. However, in resource-constrained environments, development of neurotrauma care requires judicious use of limited resources to provide maximal benefit to patients most likely to benefit, often termed ‘fair allocation of scarce resources.
