About the Training Center & Program Details:

Annapurna Neurological Institute and Allied Sciences (ANIAS) is a 100 bedded hospital in the heart of Kathamandu in the foothills of the Himalayas. Since 2009 ANIAS has provided state-of-the-art Neurological care. Founded with the motto of "Learn from the best, improve on it, and hand it over to the next generation" ANIAS has been the leading Neusurgical center in Nepal highly involved in not only providing modern neurosurgery in Nepal but also training neurosurgeons.

As a tertiary referral center ANIAS provides specialized neurosurgical care including but not limited to: functional neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, movement disorders, skull base surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, spinal surgery and more. With 10 in-house Neurosurgeons each super-specializing in a specific aspect, most modern neurosurgical interventions are performed in ANIAS. Additionally, there are full time care in Radiology, Orthopedic surgery, Neurology, Neuropsychiatry, Internal Medicine, ENT surgery, Plastic surgery and Pathology ensuring holistic care for the patients.

Since 2018, ANIAS has been a neurosurgery residency training center with 12 neurosurgery residents and also has academic residency program in orthopedic surgery, Radiology and Anesthesia from 2022.

 

Program Details

The department of Neurosurgery, ANIAS announces 2 international fellowships for a period of 3 months duration each for young neurosurgeons from developing or developed countries. During their fellowships, the fellows will be engaged in observation as well as hands on training with the experts includng assisting in neurosurgical procedures. Fellows will be paid a stipend of Rs. 25,000/- (approximately equivalent to US $ 200) per month as well as complimentary accommodation and food. The fellows will have also chance to have a short trek in the Himalayas during the residency period.
