About the Training Center:

Nagoya is the fourth largest city in Japan and lies in the middle of Japan. Nagoya Medical Center was established in 1879 and has been a major medical institution in Nagoya. Our hospital has 740 beds including 51 neurosurgical beds. We perform more than 600 neurosurgical operations including neuroendovascular, brain tumor, cerebrovascular, spinal and functional surgery per year.

 

Program Details:

  • Duration of fellowship is 1-6 months.
  • Three meals and accommodation are provided.
  • Traveling expenses are not covered.
  • Fellows are allowed to attend conference, workshop and other educational activities in Japan during the fellowship period

 

Activities:

  • Fellows can observe any neurosurgical subspecialty they are interested in, such as, cerebrovascular surgeries, endovascular surgery, brain tumor, spinal surgery, trauma and functional neurosurgery including deep brain stimulation and epilepsy surgery.
  • Fellows can participate in case presentation and discussion in regular conference and attend regular rounds in wards and neurointensive care units.
  • Fellows are encouraged to actively participate in educational discussions.

  • A copy of the passport
  • A copy of the diploma in Medicine or a certificate issued by the faculty of Medicine
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • The letter(s) of recommendation
  • A motivation letter
