Obituary Comments – John Baptist Mukasa
The Guardian 9 August:
‘A great blow to Uganda’: surgeon John Baptist Mukasa dies of Covid
One of the few neurosurgeons in the country, Mukasa declined lucrative opportunities to work overseas, dedicating himself to training a new generation and going the ‘extra mile’ for patients.
Pragnesh Bhatt (Aberdeen):
So sorry to learn about tragic loss of Dr. Mukasa. This would certainly leave a big void in Uganda. May his soul rest in peace and our prayers are with his family and friends.
V. D. Sinha (Jaipur):
Very sad. It is a great loss to the neurosurgical fraternity.
Nimrod Mwang’ombe (Nairobi):
The death of Dr Mukasa is a great loss for Neurosurgery in Uganda and East Africa. I met him in Kampala during one of our regional conferences, a wonderful man. May his soul rest in peace.
Kazadi Kalangu (Harare):
This is a great loss to the neurosurgical community in Uganda, to Africa, and to the world. May his Soul rest in Eternal Peace.
