WFNS Newsletter Cover Letter

Dear Colleagues –

The last WFNS Newsletter was in April 2022. Fortunately, the reorganization of the WFNS Central Office is well underway – allowing the bimonthly Newsletter to resume for 2023.

It is appropriate that the first two items in the Newsletter are from Peter Nakaji, WFNS Web and Publications Chair:

1. A note about the new WFNS website, www.wfns.info
2. An announcement of the search for an Editor-in-Chief for the new WFNS Journal

Given how many months it has been since the April 2022 Newsletter, the next items are reports of WFNS-sponsored conferences – several of them reports of continental society conferences:

1. 2022-4: AANS Annual Scientific Meeting, Philadelphia, PA, USA
2. 2022-9: AASNS Congress, Jerusalem, Israel
3. 2022-10: EANS Congress, Belgrade, Serbia
4. 2022-12: Neurosurgery Bootcamp, DaNang, Vietnam
5. 2022-12: Military Neurosurgery & Serbian Neurosurgical Society Annual Meeting, Belgrade, Serbia

Announcements regarding upcoming major conferences include:

1. 2023-3-9 to 12: First WFNS Global Neurosurgery Conference, Peshawar, Pakistan. Note: Abstract deadline is January 31.
2. 2023-3-10 to 12: International Conference on Complications in Neurosurgery, Mumbai, India
3. 2023-3-13 to 15: VIII Annual Winter Meeting, Ukrainian Association of Neurosurgeons, Yaremche/Bukovel, Ukraine. Let’s support our Ukrainian colleagues defending their homeland!
4. 2023-4-5 to 7: International Conference on Recent Advances in Neurotraumatology (ICRAN), San Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
5. 2023-12-4 to 8: 18th WFNS World Congress of Neurosurgery, Cape Town, South Africa. Note: dates have changed slightly from the initial announcement.

Our next Newsletter – March 2023 – will include reports on innovative projects for neurosurgeons worldwide in addition to reports on past and upcoming WFNS conferences.
